Dugood Cookie Company Adds Golden Ticket Program to Mission of Kindness
The Dugood Cookie Company was founded on a simple principle: trade a cookie for an act of kindness.
This season, the nonprofit organization is adding an exciting new twist to that mission with its Golden Ticket Program at the Loudonville Farmers’ Market.
Every cookie distributed by Dugood Cookie Company contains a ticket featuring a unique QR code. Recipients have 48 hours to complete an act of kindness and share it through the online form linked to the code. Upon submission, the Golden Ticket system immediately determines whether that act of kindness has unlocked a charitable donation for the nonprofit organization of the participant’s choice.
While the Golden Ticket adds an element of surprise, the real purpose of the program is much bigger than the prize itself.
“The Golden Ticket is fun, but it’s really about recognizing the incredible power of small acts of kindness,” said Jennifer Koch, President of Dugood Cookie Company. “You never know where a simple gesture might lead. One person helps a neighbor, that neighbor helps someone else, and before long you’ve created a ripple effect that touches dozens of lives. We believe kindness works a lot like the Butterfly Effect—small actions can grow into something far bigger than we ever imagined.”
The Golden Ticket Program was created to encourage people to take that first step.
As the program enters its third week, excitement is growing. No Golden Ticket has yet been validated, causing the charitable prize to roll over each week. As a result, visitors to the Loudonville Farmers’ Market on June 12 will have the opportunity to direct a $3,000 donation to their favorite qualifying nonprofit organization through a single act of kindness.
For Dugood Cookie Company, however, the ultimate goal isn’t monetary. It’s creating a community where kindness becomes contagious.
After all, nobody knows how far one good deed might travel—or whose life it might change.
